Join the Ambassador Club to experience Omaha at its’ best!
Day One: Arrive in Omaha at 12:30pm and have lunch at Spaghetti Works in the Old Market District. After lunch we’ll take a guided tour of the Durham Museum. The museum makes its home in one of Omaha’s most unique treasures, Union Station. It is filled with a fascinating look at the history of the region. Guests can step inside historic train cars to discover how it felt to travel the rails in the steam engine, Pullman car, lounge car, and caboose. Additional exhibits detail Omaha’s neighborhoods, notable citizens, and interesting historical facts.
We’ll check into the Hampton Inn, in the Old Market District at 4:00pm.
In the evening, we’ll enjoy German food, dancing and singing. After dinner, the German American Society Dance group will perform dances from various regions of Germany.
Day Two: Breakfast with Ukrainian speaker, Olesia Reprichowskyj, who will bring various Ukrainian linens and gives an entertaining presentation about the linens connection to Ukrainian history, customs and traditions.
Next we’ll take a City Driving Tour of Omaha to learn more about Omaha’s past, present and future. The Highlights of the tour will include the Old Market District, Creighton University, Historic Gold Coast District, Lewis & Clark landing, Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, St. Cecilia’s Spanish Cathedral, TD Ameritrade Park (Home of the annual College World Series), billionaire Warren Buffet’s residence, and the Joslyn Museum. There will be a brief stop at Pioneer Courage Park. The park contains complete life-size sculptures of an authentic pioneer wagon train traveling west across the Nebraska prairie.
Lunch today is at the Renaissance Mansion! Experience an authentic Swedish Smorgasbord at an elegant turn of the century mansion! After tasting a variety of dishes, enjoy a Swedish dessert cooking show.
